Dclm Daily Manna 12 March 2021 – A City Of Paradoxes
TEXT: Jeremiah 22:1-12 (KJV)
1 Thus saith the LORD; Go down to the place of the ruler of Judah, and express there this word,
2 And say, Hear the expression of the LORD, O ruler of Judah, that sittest upon the seat of David, thou, and thy workers, and thy individuals that enter in by these doors:
3 Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and honorableness, and convey the ruined out of the hand of the oppressor: and choose whatever is best, do no brutality to the more odd, the illegitimate, nor the widow, neither shed guiltless blood in this spot.
4 For on the off chance that ye do this thing in reality, will there enter in by the doors of this house lords sitting upon the seat of David, riding in chariots and on ponies, he, and his workers, and his kin.
5 But on the off chance that ye won’t hear these words, I depend on myself, saith the LORD, that this house will turn into a devastation.
6 For consequently saith the LORD unto the ruler’s place of Judah; Thou workmanship Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon: yet doubtlessly I will make you a wild, and urban communities which are not possessed.
7 And I will plan destroyers against you, each one with his weapons: and they will chop down thy decision cedars, and cast them into the shoot.
8 And numerous countries will pass by this city, and they will say each man to his neighbor, Wherefore hath the LORD done subsequently unto this incredible city?
9 Then they will reply, Because they have neglected the contract of the LORD their God, and revered different divine beings, and served them.
10 Weep ye not for the dead, neither wail over him: but rather sob sore for him that goeth away: for he will return no more, nor see his local country.
11 For along these lines saith the LORD contacting Shallum the child of Josiah ruler of Judah, which ruled rather than Josiah his dad, which went forward out of this spot; He will not return yonder any more:
12 But he will bite the dust in the spot whither they have driven him hostage, and will see this land no more.
KEY VERSE: “And numerous countries will pass by this city, and they will say each man to his neighbor, Wherefore hath the LORD done accordingly unto this extraordinary city?” (Jeremiah 22:8).
The popularity of the city was to draw in outsiders from all over. The laws of God were to be the standard guaranteeing equity and value. Yet, what was the deal? Extraordinary oddities. A city set up to be incredible however was little. It was made to be crowded yet oh well, it was uninhabited. It was to be the focal point of trade and monetary riches yet it was described by joblessness and hunger. As opposed to being secure and safe, killings and slaughter filled the land. Rather than submission and the information on God in the hearts of the rulers and individuals, obliviousness, insubordination and wickedness won. Cheating, mistreatment and nepotism infested the land. This was a city, which ought to be the focal point of advancement and fascination, yet it was abandoned and detested by guests and spectators.
Our content portrays the account of a city neglected by God in light of the fact that the rulers had wouldn’t follow the Lord and to make the best decision by aiding poor people and the defenseless. God gave clear and express precepts to the rulers, however in a steady progression, they dismissed Him and His statement. So they got a gather of decisions and disciplines.
God loathes insubordination and resistance among His kin. At whatever point we disregard His rules, we lose His association and favor. Where we have been bound to appreciate an extraordinary and superb life, there will be disappointments and disappointments. Where we ought to have gained ground, we experience retrogression. Rather than harmony and flourishing, we witness disarray and need.
The pathway to an existence of persistent kindness, bounty and satisfaction is steady dutifulness to God and His statement. At the point when we subscribe to living in acquiescence to His promise, we are ensured His relentless courtesy, gift and success.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
“Honesty exalteth a country: however sin is a censure to any individuals”.
