Theme: A City Of Paradoxes (DCLM Daily Manna 12 March 2021)

TEXT: Jeremiah 22:1-12 (KJV)

1 Thus saith the LORD; Go down to the place of the ruler of Judah, and express there this word,

2 And say, Hear the expression of the LORD, O ruler of Judah, that sittest upon the seat of David, thou, and thy workers, and thy individuals that enter in by these doors:

3 Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and exemplary nature, and convey the ruined out of the hand of the oppressor: and choose whatever is best, do no brutality to the more odd, the bastard, nor the widow, neither shed blameless blood in this spot.

4 For assuming ye do this thing undoubtedly, will there enter in by the entryways of this house rulers sitting upon the seat of David, riding in chariots and on ponies, he, and his workers, and his kin.

5 But in the event that ye won’t hear these words, I depend on myself, saith the LORD, that this house will turn into a devastation.

6 For subsequently saith the LORD unto the ruler’s place of Judah; Thou craftsmanship Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon: yet definitely I will make you a wild, and urban communities which are not possessed.

7 And I will plan destroyers against you, each one with his weapons: and they will chop down thy decision cedars, and cast them into the discharge.

8 And numerous countries will pass by this city, and they will say each man to his neighbor, Wherefore hath the LORD done hence unto this extraordinary city?

9 Then they will reply, Because they have spurned the agreement of the LORD their God, and adored different divine beings, and served them.

10 Weep ye not for the dead, neither moan about him: but rather sob sore for him that goeth away: for he will return no more, nor see his local country.

11 For subsequently saith the LORD contacting Shallum the child of Josiah ruler of Judah, which ruled rather than Josiah his dad, which went forward out of this spot; He will not return there any more:

12 But he will pass on in the spot whither they have driven him hostage, and will see this land no more.

KEY VERSE: “And numerous countries will pass by this city, and they will say each man to his neighbor, Wherefore hath the LORD done consequently unto this incredible city?” (Jeremiah 22:8).

MESSAGE:

The distinction of the city was to draw in outsiders from all over. The laws of God were to be the standard guaranteeing equity and value. Be that as it may, what was the deal? Incredible Catch 22s. A city set up to be incredible yet was little. It was made to be crowded yet oh, it was uninhabited. It was to be the focal point of trade and financial abundance however it was described by joblessness and hunger. As opposed to being secure and safe, killings and carnage filled the land. Rather than submission and the information on God in the hearts of the rulers and individuals, obliviousness, noncompliance and corruption won. Cheating, mistreatment and nepotism swarmed the land. This was a city, which ought to be the focal point of development and fascination, yet it was abandoned and abhorred by guests and spectators.

Our content portrays the narrative of a city spurned by God in light of the fact that the rulers had would not follow the Lord and to make the best choice by aiding poor people and the defenseless. God gave clear and unequivocal instructions to the rulers, however in a steady progression, they dismissed Him and His statement. So they got a reap of decisions and disciplines.

God loathes noncompliance and resistance among His kin. At whatever point we disregard His precepts, we lose His cooperation and favor. Where we have been bound to appreciate an extraordinary and heavenly life, there will be disappointments and disappointments. Where we ought to have gained ground, we experience retrogression. Rather than harmony and success, we witness disarray and need.

The pathway to an existence of consistent courtesy, bounty and bliss is steady dutifulness to God and His assertion. At the point when we subscribe to living in dutifulness to His promise, we are ensured His relentless kindness, gift and flourishing.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

“Honorableness exalteth a country: yet sin is a censure to any individuals”.
